Legendary artist, David Bowie passed away today, January 10, 2016 at the
age of 69. He had been battling cancer for the past year and a half
and we are told he died peacefully and surrounded by family and friends.
Bowie
was known for revolutionizing music both in look and in sound with his
unique voice, his creative lyrics and his other worldly, glamorous,
outer space appearance. 1972 brought the world Ziggy Stadust and his
genius was accepted ever since. Fame, Space Oddity, Rebel Rebel, Young
Americans, Fashion, China Girl, and songs with artists such as Queen and
Trent Reznor, have kept him in our ears and hearts for decades. His
final and 25th album, Blackstar was released on his birthday, January
8th of 2016, just 2 days before his passing.
David Bowie also
dazzled us on the big screen, most notably with his role as the goblin
king in the cult film, Labrynth. He also showed his skill as a vampire
in the hunger, Nicola Tesla in the prestige, and Andy Warhol in
Basquiat, to name a few others.
He was an inspiration to all of
us who feel called to be creative, passionate, and just a little
different than the norm and we here at BossLevel8 would like to thank
him for influencing us and giving us so many things to enjoy.
Our thoughts go out to his family and he will be missed.
